Bone wars

The dinner time topic last night was the bone wars of the 19th century. When America’s leading industrial families tried to cement their dynasties by monopolizing popular academic pursuits and building museums and institutions with their names on them it wasn’t always pretty. The Peabody family won the bone wars (paleontology related) and the scientist involved got to name lots and lots of newly discovered (often with the help of Native Americans or dynamite) dinosaur species. So we started trying to come up with our own names in case we are ever called upon by a Peabody. LieLie was the undisputed champ with Chucknorrisaurus.
