Summer is over. It was glorious and horrific and slow and swift like most things worth doing. We grieved the changes in our family since we finally had some time to do so. Alex moved to France six months ago, Kara moved to Kentucky and birthed her perfect tiny babies there this summer, Old Granpa died last winter and in the chaos of life we didn’t digest any of that until about now. Finn and I were in a car accident and walked away shaken but not stirred. Whiplashed and a couple of burnt broken fingers but alive and thankful for fine Volvo safety features. We went on an amazing vacation with Lena’s family to Captiva Island and we saw so many friends I almost forgot I ever moved away. I felt like myself there. There is no denying that my beach roots run deep. We ended the summer camping near the Panther Training Camp with Gimmie and Grandaddy. Day in and day out my parents helped me without being asked. When I barely had a head above water they threw me a taco or a swim noodle or a pressure washer or whatever would keep me floating another day. Divorce is hard. I can’t wait for it to be over. Going back to school is really hard, too. I miss my babies. Finn and I start on Monday. Lielie started two weeks ago.
Here are the summer highlights!!!!
